It seems that the political struggle is once again against the rise of fascism--only this time, a fascism that is protected by those neoliberals who positioned themselves, after the failed Communist experiments of the 20th century, as the only viable alternative to the fascists. Neoliberals protect fascism because they need it to serve as a foil that masks their own fascistic tendencies. So, while they assert that their struggle is against fascism, they have no desire to see it eliminated.



By contrast, then, the genuine Left (or what remains of it) is made to appear out of touch with present political realities when, in fact, it is all that stands in opposition to the tacit neoliberal-fascist alliance that is determined to run the global political table.
