I read in the NYT that Donald Trump is a liar. I think that gives him far too much credit. In order to lie about something, one must first determine the truth of the matter, then form an intention to prevaricate, and finally say something one knows to deviate from that truth. Such a process would entail far too much effort for Donald Trump. He appears to me to skip these steps and just bloviates (see above). That his subsequent utterances do not align with generally accepted facts about the world should surprise no one. With this method, he might get lucky every now and then and speak accurately but, by that point, intelligent people will have stopped listening.
